Did the ride to China Camp this weekend and checked it out. Weather is
cool/foggy at night and pretty warm during the days - got up into the high-80's
today. Group campsite has running water. There is parking for 8-10 cars. People
can park near my house and ride in if they want. It is about 6 mi

I hope you find your Roadeo. I used to own a 60cm Ram and always regretted
selling it. I eventually bought a 59cm Roadeo and it's my favorite bike.
Only slightly lighter and the handling is just a little more responsive
without losing the Rivendell stable feel that I really like on fast

No, I keep meaning to try it but keep forgetting. I've never done so in the
past, when I could shift friction very well. Will try to remember (along
with changing the HVAC filter and the gerbil's bedding and paying the HOA
...) Perhaps the Microshift RD on the Fargo does not have a laterally

Have you swapped the pulleys on the derailure? That trick did wonders for

I love the Ram; it just "feels" right -- in the sense that it "encourages"
hard pedaling, while some bikes just feel as if they drain your effort.
But it feels slightly more sedate than my customs -- slower to "turn in";
while the customs seem to have most of the Ram's straight line stability.

FWIW, this -- ie, that I've not used dt shifters except sporadically for
many years and have thus lost the habit -- explains why I found shifting 5
cogs on the Herse with Retro dt shifters awkward; ditto for the 6 (also
Retro -- no fd or left side shifter) on the Ken Rogers. Whereas I've been

There are three metal bridges in that area, and they were most likely put
there by a team of volunteers who built the trail. I know at least some of
the trails in the area were designed and implemented (with recruited trail
volunteers) to earn Eagle Scout. I'm not sure if this is one of those.
