The thinnest rim tape is probably no tape at all. I installed a set
of Velocity Veloplugs on my latest set of home-built wheels (A23 rims
on White Industries hubs). No issues with them so far, and they can
easily be removed and reinstalled if ever needed.

I learned a good lesson on my Reynolds 531 db frame, made by Falcon,
branded Merkyx, a long time ago, parking it on a good steel pole. I dropped
it while locking it to the pole, right in the middle, in the thin part of
the db top tube, and put a nice little ding in it. I rode it until the left
fork
I bought a new to me Rivendell custom, and clumsily smacked the top tube
with a floor pump as I lifted it over the bike.

I am curious why there is no post about this frame. I actually think it's
a lot nicer then my Rambo, it is a well thought out bike. From what I can
tell other then the seat, all the lugs are Riv's; even the bottom bracket
lug has the rivendell stamp on it. The price was hard to beat!

A thin rimstrip can make a HUGE difference with tight tyres. The Stan's NoTubes
rim tape is a thin nylon material. These have become my go-to rim tape, both
for thin-ness and light-ness. One roll will do four 700C wheels (I think), so
it works out to be an economical solution, too. They aren't a

Got the 24" wheeled Rock Hopper Comp out today. Its kind of a 25 yr old time
capsule. It certainly hasn't been ridden much, still has the original tires
which still have " new-nubs" on the tread. All original components except for
