Is there any interest out there for a 54cm saluki frame and fork?
This is one of the first official run that had the super nice fork
bend, double taper seat stays and cantilever brakes. Paint and decals
are like new except for a few places where it chipped from use (drop
outs, eyelets, etc) $1400
An 80% dirt commute! That's living it up nicely.
We've got a pretty similar hunqa-style setup. I recently took off
fenders and racks so it'd be more manageable in rough dirt too.
I really like the Sam this way (naked, that is).
Before, with racks and fenders:

Quite nice -- I wouldn't mind some in black.
I owned a pair of a particular AE model (forget name; pointy,
thin-soled, wingtip) dating back pre-'80s (I got it at a thrift store)

It's true that most freewheels can be removed with a big wrench. Most
of the freewheels that are too much for a wrench can be removed by a
vise. Those that cannot be removed with a vice are few. If it's been
on for 10+ years and was used a lot, I'd guess that Minh will need a

I've never experienced any problems removing a freewheel (with the
proper freewheel tool) and a large adjustable wrench. I have a Sears
"Craftsman" 12 inch adjustable wrench which does the trick every
time. As long as the freewheel tool is tightened down with the
skewer, it's not going to slip.
One more data point on freewheel removal. I follow the steps mentioned in
prior posts, but use my really big adjustable wrench over which I slip a
4-foot length of pipe. Then the leverage from this jumbo tool easily
"breaks" the bond.

My Hillborne is an Orange one. I bought it from Riv in December of
2009, and at the time, I think there were some Greens still around in
some sizes, but there were no Green 56's.
After another pass through my taxes, I've decided that a $150 set of

Bill , Is yours an older green or a new orange Hillborne.
I remember when I was at RBW, Keven telling me that the new oranges

I purchased the last 56cm guy in the house. So, I know that as far as
Hillbornes go...my bike has less room for big tires.
