I'm not sure what you mean by "opposite direction." It would be helpful if
you include a simple, self-contained dataset here to illustrate your
problem.
For side-by-side boxplots, you can use tplot.

code.
I use "boxwex" to make the boxes narrower, "at" to shift them
over and "add" to draw them both on the same graph. Something along
the lines of
