Hi all,
I'm using sm library. In the two-dimensional plot of the analysis with one
covariate, I'm able to modify several graphic parameters, either specifying
them directly in the sm.regression() function, either through sm.options().The
only graphical parameter i cannot modify is the width of

Hi,
I'm try to compute the minimum sample size needed to have at least an 80% of
power, with alpha=0.05. The problem is that empirical proportions are really
small: 0.00154 in one case and 0.00234. These are the estimated failure
proportion of two medical treatments.

Hi everybody,
I'm quite weak with regular expression, and I need some help...
I have strings of the type

Dear all,
I cannot figure out how to solve a small problem (well, not for me), surely
somebody can help me in few seconds.
I have a series of strings in a vector X of the type "xxx", "yyy", "zzz",
"IgA", "IgG", "kkk", "IgM", "aaa".
I want to substitute every ENTIRE string beginning
Hi,
I'm using the sm.regression function from the package sm. Everything works
fine, but I'd like to have the the "RGL" display only with the smoothed surface
and without the data points displayed.
Is there an option to do it? I can reduce their size, using "size" parameter,
but I haven
Hi all,
I have thousands of strings like these ones:

"1141_24; gi;2894249;emb;CAA17111.1; PROBABLE ISOCITRATE DEHYDROGENASE"
and various others..
I'm interested to extract the code fo
Hi,
I'm a beginner in the field, I have to perform the ridge regression with
lm.ridge for many datasets, and I wanted to do it in an automatic way.
In which way I can automatically choose lambda ?
As said, right now I'm using lm.ridge MASS function, which I found quite simple
and fast, and I've
Sorry if this is a stupid question, I'm a beginner and I didn't find help in

sorry it was a stupid question. I have just to compute the estimated velues
from the predictor colums and the coefficients and subtract from the observed
values...
sorry again

Hi all,
first of all, I'm not an expert on R, I'm still learning, so sorry if this is a
stupid question...
I have a large dataset that is to big for my computer memory, and I found quite
useful the package biglm. Now everything is working perfectly. But if I want
the residuals, how I can d
