The HITS replacement will work with both st and the original.
But it's a SA feature and you must use verbose SA for it which is more
computationally intensive.
There is a subject rewrite feature inside qmail scanner and st, but the text
it appends is no affected by the score.

Check the values of @scanner_array "spamassassin" means verbose.
I don't quite remember from my setup if you have to use Verbose to rewrite
