This seems like a rather destructive behavior on the part of Qmail-Scanner.
(I haven't seen a comment about this in the archives - I'll admit I didn't
go through every month)
I've seen this happen several times, and the last time was EXTREMELY bad -
happened for a full day.

I received a very obvious spam in my Inbox today, and I was surprised
that SpamAssassin's Bayes didn't catch it. Examining the headers
revealed that indeed Bayes was not consulted:

Is it totally impossible to have qmail scanner (with
spamassassin) automatically move the email to
$user/Maildir/.junkmail/new instead of just tagging it

Clearly it is possible to do this since virii are
moved to the quarantine folder. My users are not
