Is there a way to check when a qmail-qpop user (Maildir format) last checked
their email? Is there a timestamp left anywhere?
Thanks,

I soved the problem I was having earlier with POP3 authentication going very
slow (30 secs to more than minute) or sometimes timing out.
Server reboot. Not just a stop and start of the qmail-pop3 or tcpserver
daemon. Just a plain cold restart.
Probably a memory leak somewhere.

I'm experiencing same problem. DNS is correct, I've turned off reverse name
server lookups, using tcpserver and not inetd.
I would like to see some suggestions also.

ers site were the user had an attachment,
it would strip the attachment and turn in into a small file size and rename
it (mssometing.dat), it turned out to be Outlook on the clients machine, i
think I changed the MIME encoding from memory to fix it

Thats part of the problem. There is no error message. Just a popup in
Outlook express or any other email client that says: "Error sending
message" Period. Nothing, nada, not even a bounce message.

A user has reported a problem receiving attachments from anybody outside our
network. At first I brushed him off as crazy. But the problem can be
duplicated on other pop3 accounts.
Some people not in our network (AOL is one) trying to send email to users on
our network will receive an error mes
Does serialmail require the dialup host to have a static IP?

What should the user, group, and permissions be for the
/var/qmail/users/assign file be? I'm trying to setup serialmail and it says
to add a line to this file. I don't have one so I need to make a new one
but the serialmail docs don't indicate what user, group, and permissions for
this file.

Would somebody kindly point me to a one page set of instructions on how to
use SerialMail? The INSTALL that comes with serialmail simply says:
1. make
2. make setup check
Now what am I supposed to do with the 2 files it apparrently creates,
./install and ./instcheck? I can pretty much guess wh

I'm using QMail 1.03, and using tcpserver instead of inetd. Linux 2.0.xx.
Some POP3 account users are complaining of slow POP3 authentication. About
50% of the time, authentication times out. I have noticed the problem too,
but once authenticated, download of email is quite fast.
Are there no
Yes, I have seen it either at the qmail home page, or at the MySQL home

I'm having a problem that is due to the fact that QMail runs too smoothly.
I can't remember how I turned off all those mailer-daemon failure notices.
I want to turn it back on temporarily, but QMail is such a good program that
you forget how to configure it after awhile.
Anybody have an idea wha
