Ok, I understand your question now.
Unfortunately, the measurement tool is not accessible with the python API.
As I don't have the context explaining why
QgsMapToolDigitizeFeature) and therefore mapTool().pointsZM()
is not available.
Now I wonder if I can utilize the QgsRubberBand
