£52k doesn't seem unrealistic but I think it's distorted by the banks &
hedge funds. Wouldn't expect to see a start-up paying that sort of salary
unless it's a betting exchange.
That being said, £25-30k does sound very low for what they're looking for

I highly recommend you do this. I did something similar but slightly more
crazy called the startupbus.
It's a sprint to launch a startup on a bus ride from New York to Austin. It
has been one of the best experiences of my life.
