Dear Maintainers,
since the matplotib is available for Python 3 it would be nice if also
basemap would be supported for python 3. According to the documentation,
it only requires Python 2.4 (or later) [1].

Hi,
python-markdown in jessie calls logging.captureWarnings(True) on import,
unconditionally. For a library, this is unbelievably antisocial.
Logging should be left in control of the application.
