Hi Arne,
Unfortunately, ray_trace_mode is a global setting. You get the gain on
all objects. I agree is looks poor on isomeshes. We should consider
making ray_trace_gain object/atom level.

Hi all,
I would like to use ray_trace_mode 1 to render some structures. However, I am
also using isomeshes within the same picture and do not want them to have a
black outline. Is there any way to have the black outline only for specified
objects or to make them transparent in isomeshes?

set ray_trace_color, black
If your background color is something other than black, use that color instead.

For some reason I am getting white outlines in saved pymol sessions with
ray_trace_mode, 1. Does anyone know what is causing this and/or a quick way
to switch to the black outlines. This does not occur with new sessions,

Hi Warren et al.
I play with the ray_trace_modes and like the effects of outlines (mode 1 or 3).
But why is also maps outlined. Map colour disappear and maps become black!
Notice also that no outline is produced on cgo-objects (spheres). Also sticks
visible behind a transparent cgo or surface l
