Dear all,
I am new to this list, and new to PyMOL, so I appologise if this is an
old question.
Is it possible to alter the transparency of a stick/cartoon model?
I have searched the manual, but have only been able to find how to
change transparency of a surface and that is not what I want to show
I make stereo pictures by making two pictures, with the command "turn y, 6"

Now that I am looking into a crevice, I have discovered a problem with this
simple method. When the view is rotated, the light vector moves with the

On this note, our collaborators in CS have a test Itanium2 box that I have

Scott,
Not at all. The only way to increase ray tracing speed is to
upgrade your CPU. I think a 100-150 Ghz Pentium 8 is just about
optimal.
You can also tweek some of the parameters:
Increasing the hash_max setting to 160 or 180 can improve raytracing of
complex scenes, if you have lo
Warren,
Does PyMOL ray tracing speed depend on the graphics card? I am curious
what factors (hardware or software) effect rendering speed.
Thanks,

Hi,
I am running ver 0.86 and I noticed the movie.tdroll function not
working. When I appended the command
"first=int(first)" just under the definition of the "movie.tdroll"
function in the "movie.py" file the function seems to work.
I hope this helps.
