yes, rgmanager is just an 'automated' administrator ;-)

at least make sure the VMs are stopped on Node1.

@Lindsay:
Very interesting, thanks.
Even it can operate without the PVE Cluster, always that you have a copy of
the config of the VM.
Even if personally i prefer my strategy, due that with a script in a menu
options, any person will can apply "HA" without have that remember the exact
command

yes, though a while back. Storage is shared.

- Unplug Node1
- logon to Node2
- mv /etc/pve/nodes/Node1/qemu-server/*.conf
/etc/pve/nodes/Node2/qemu-server/
- Manually start VM's on Node2
Is there anything else it would do?
Have you tested that works your strategy with a node that is off and not
turned on?

I would like to correct the command that should be applied:
/usr/sbin/fence_ack_manual
Also tell you them that the "rgmanager" service is necessary, fence join, and
"failover domain" can be necessary if you have more of two nodes.

I've been manually managing the VM's on my three node cluster for now, we don't
really need VM's transferred within seconds of a node fai
@Gilberto:
First that all, please post the messages to the pve-devel mailing list, so all
people can read and correct anything that to be wrong said.
Moreover, i do of this mode and order:
1) I wait that a node has some kind of problem
2) I analyze the problem (for example, maybe be a problem wi
Also remember that "fence_ack_manual" is available, that it is a soft fence,
it don't need a hardware of fence device, and only works when we don't have
network communication with the node that have some kind of problem.

That is only in newest version from git. But again, this is not suitable for
real fencing.

I think that makes not much sense, because ssh also fail as soon as you have
network problems.
There is also the pve fenving agent (fence_pve), but this can never replace real
fencing.

Hello guys...
First of all, Merry Xmas for everybody
In second place, I wonder if there is such plans to include soft fence in
Proxmox, like oVirt do...
I read something here:
http://www.ovirt.org/Automatic_Fencing#Automatic_Fencing_in_oVirt_3.3
According to this wiki, it will no need of ha
