Hallo list,
do you know how to make this PCMCIA card work on RH8? It's Netgear, 54 Mbps
Wireless PC Card, 32-bit CardBus WG511, 2.4Ghz, 802.11b/g.
What I've done:
- assigned the chipset in the /etc/pcmcia/wireless.opt file;
- browsed around for some info but got nothing.
This is supposed to be

Thanks Shane. It works, but with 'serviceconf' command that will open the
UI, then we can click on mysqld and start it like that.
But it's really not nice. I guess there must be a way to start it normall
Hallo list,
What is the name of RH8's USB daemon? Or how can we uninstall this daemon?
I prefer usbmgr daemon. Much better, controlable & less erratic. Moreover &
more importantly: it allows me to play music from my NTFS drive (an 80GB

I've installed it...:)
Simply do:
sh install.sh -m
Without that -m flag, kylix3 files will go crazy under / folder instead of
its normal place at /usr/local/kylix3.
Once installed, don't forget to edit the /etc/ld.so.conf that reads like
this:
[root@localhost root]# cat /etc/ld.so.conf
/usr

I couldn't understand why you put Kylix3's bin directory to
/etc/ld.so.conf ; you have to add the library paths and do ldconfig.
Are the library files of Kylix also stands in /usr/local/kylix3/bin
directory ???
Your diction is very ambiguous and I can't really understand w

To start MySQL in RedHat 8.0, enter the following as root:

As I said earlier, RH8's xmms seems to be troublesome. So, I reinstall
everything and downgrade the version.
1. The files that I use here:

libjconv-2.8.1-2k.i586.rpm, 25181

I still wonder though why RH8's xmms couldn't work
nicely like this.
It's because RH removed MP3 support for this release.
Had you read the release notes, you would know why.
