Maximum memory under Linux

At the moment we are writing an application for the windows environment that needs in some situations a lot om memory (+ 2GB). We are thinking to switch over to Linux. Can someone tell me wat the memory limit under LInux is at the moment? I'm hearing sounds of 64 GB and 2GB per process. Thanx. Ro
