I upgraded my spamassassin. The version shipped with rh8.0 was not
very accuracte, a lot of false positives.
After upgrade it is hitting 100% accuracy.
The official srpm only needed a tiny edit to the spec file, I have put
it here:

I got the static opera, but I still have problems. It seems all the
text in all the widgets displays blank (or perhaps a few squiggles).
Any ideas?
Note that selecting an athlon kernel does NOT enable the athlon
optimzations!
There is gcc-3.1 for RH7.3.

I believe you will find that this is a marketing decision. I am
speaking strickly for myself on this, not as a representative of
Hughes.
Is the preemptable kernel patch in the standard RH8.0 kernel? How
could I tell?
He guys. Have you heard of tar? That has always worked fine for me
to clone linux filesystems, and even windoze.
I'd like to add that this is really annoying. It would be more
convenient if I could specify the kernel to compile against. The way
it is, you have to reboot first and make sure NOT to run X, or you're
in trouble. Then you can rebuild/install and start X.
Using the srpm package, there is no pro

I'm wondering how to setup for serial console. I am setting up a
small cluster and want to avoid the expense of a kvm switch.
Reading in the kernel serial console doc, I get the impression that I
don't need to setup anything? If there is no video card found I will
automatically get a serial cons
It's done so much compiling it is now too tired and needs a rest.

I'd like to get a usb zip disk (iomega). Does the current RH8 kernel
support it? Any hints?

I have been printing fine using cups on RH7.3, but after upgrading to
RH8.0 I have problems.
I am using cups. Various HP laserjets have been tried (e.g., 8100).
The problem is nothing but the banner page prints. But, if I run
through ps2ps, it prints fine.

I need to force 100-FDX option on my 3c905 nic. I tried adding

I tried manually
/sbin/modprobe -v 3c59x options=0x204
This appears to have worked.
How do I get this to happen automatically at boot? It looks like the

After updating kernel, we usually reboot. This often gives the wrong
impression that a problem was caused by the kernel change. Frequently
the problem is unrelated, and is just noticed because of the reboot.

I haven't actually installed psyche yet, but this is what I expect.
The C++ < ABI has changed.
1. C apps should not be affected.
2. You can't reliably link old ABI C++ code with new ABI C++ code, so
you need to recompile your C++ libs if you need to link new code to
them.
3. Existing
dvips was working fine before upgrade, now it says:

Yes I have a /usr/bin/lpr and it works fine.
If I do dvips -o file, it works fine, and then I can lpr and
that's also fine.

I have put together an RPM for exim-4.10 which seems to be working. I

On a brand new installation, konq doesn't work on any ftp. It brings
up a confused cervesia, telling me this isn't a cvs repository.
I'm pretty sure this is an OLD issue in kdelibs that was fixed months
ago. IIRC, when I updated my kde back then the problem was fixed.
