I don;t know about the "vesa" driver I think it will run for Geforce 3 & 4 as
the default driver in Psyche. While I still use Geforce 2 and the default use
"nv". I test it with game such tux racer and chromium, using the "nv" driver
is drop... but not with the "nvidia" driver works better

You might want to carry on this discussion on the NVidia discussion
groups. They probably get more attention from NVidia engineers than this
list does.
If you get a solution there, let us all know, though.

For me, they (the binary versions) worked perfectly
I upgraded both the kernel and the GLX files and verified the "alias
char-major-195 nvidia" statement was also correctly there.
I am now able to load the kernel and GLX divers, but it's still *WAY*
slower than the original vesa driver. Any ideas why this is so slow now?
I also noticed that the NVi

I rebuilt from the source rpm and haven't had any problems except for
Half-Life under Wine. I get a message that says "The selected OpenGL
mode is not supported by your video card." whenever I attempt to join a
game.
Did you upgrade GLX as well?
Did you change "alias char-major-195 NVdriver" to "
Well, al little mor - I finally got the kernel module to install, but
the video is as slow as the standard vesa driver. It's like the driver
is now loading but has no acceleration at all. I've reverted back to the
earlier build for now.
Anyone else see this?

I know it's not directly related to this list, but I was wondering if
anyone has been able to get the latest drivers from NVidia (build 4191)
to work with kernel 2.4.18-8.0. I have tried both the pre-compiled
redhat 8.0 version and building it from the source RPM file. No dice.
The kernel fails to
