You shouldn't need to access the bios while the OS is running, sounds like a
notebook.
Try pressing "DEL" or "CTRL-ALT-ESC" During the POST.

I use Pro-FTPD, it is more difficult to setup, but has greater
configurablitly.
otherwise use :
updatedb ( index your drives )
locate ftp (will list all files it finds with "ftp" somewhere in the name)
