I've got RH8 on my athlon but it's loaded as the i686 architecture. Is
there a performance advantage to using the athlon kernel and if so, what
all is required to load it? Any tips or links greatly appreciated...

under 8.0. I loaded the drivers from the 0.1.16-pre1 tarball. Also I upgraded the
firmware on my card using the firmware package on the linksys site (requires windows
of course).

Yeah, I got the same exact behavior a few days ago when I grabbed the
fetchmail update. I'm still a novice so I just logged off and back on
and it worked the second time. (wasn't sure how to kill the process -
kill pid didn't seem to stop it).
