You can ask Harry Thijssen to make a binary for Windows based on
0.10.5-pre3, which I just released.
I don't think there should be any more problems for PSPP users who want
to read files produced by ReadStat, if they use the latest version of
PSPP. Is there something else you'd like to know?

Hello Ben,
Thanks for your work. What will you do next ? Update ? I use PSPP in
Windows, how can I get an update ?
What should I tell the ESS people who use ReadStat ? Or do you want to
write directly to ESS ?

I fixed the problem.
In this case the problem was really more with ReadStat, the software
that wrote this file, but as I said I want PSPP to work with every file,
not just ones that fit the format perfectly.

Thank you. I should be able to find and fix the problem later this week.

It could be either, but I want PSPP to accept all of the files that other
software does, so I will adjust to make the file work regardless of the
fault.

Thank you, too. I understand that you think the problem is more on the
side of PSPP and not caused by the ESS website generating files with
errors .

Hello Be,
Thank for offering your help. The original file is a cumulated
multi-wave multi-country survey from the European Social Survey. It was
so large (200 MB) that I downloaded a reduced version of 8.8 MB which -
alas - creates the same error in PSPP:
GET
GET FILE="C:\Users\Toshiba\Down
I would be pleased to help fix this problem with PSPP. Are you able to send
a copy of the file that causes the problem? You can send it privately to
me, if necessary, and I will not share it further.
