Dear John and Harry
Sorry for the long silence.
I tested the /origin command with a multiple regression with 6 independent
variables on a larger dataset (the regression is only partially useful). I used
the new windows installer 0.10.5pre3-g9a68ff. The output of SPSS and PSPP
coincides, i.e.
Last week a student asked me whether he should eliminate the intercept in a
simple linear regression when it is not significantly different from 0. Yes, I
said: It is very simple to remove it in PSPP. How wrong was I! There is no
option /NOORIGIN in the PSPP Regression procedure.

Dear Beat,
thanks for your description of your experience with pspp on MacOS. As an

The title of the scatterplot says "Scatterplot y vs. x". Now there is a debate
about what y vs. x actually means. In my opinion it means that y is on the
ordinate (vertical axis) and x on the abscissa (horizontal). But on the net
there are opinions where "y vs. x" means that x
Concerning output I tried out a few of the offered versions and the (only) one
that worked was html. In addition to the html file it produces png files of the
graph output which then can be processed further.

Are there plans for
i) implementing (grouped) boxplots, histograms and normalplot
into the user interface psppire?
ii)adding a scatterplot to the correlation?
iii) adding a barchart to frequencies (for nominal)?
iv) adding the Tukey-Ans
