I realised that after I posted - it was meant to be the 2.5" drive.
However further research shows that the laptop requires a 7mm drive and
will not accept the 15mm drive. Have to start looking again ...

SATA drives are backwards compatible. SATA ports are also backwards compatible.
They just won't be as fast.
