Hi All,
I have just setup a backup MX
My DNS entries are
10 mail.domain.com
20 mail2.domain.com
My main.cf on the mail2 is as follows
relay_domains = domain.com, $mydestination
relay_recipient_maps = hash:/etc/postfix/relay_recipients
I'm now testing out the testing out taking down postfix

Why? In most cases they are more trouble than they are worth. Spam
magnets which do nothing to help you, unless your primary MX is down
for 3 or more days. (In the latter case, address that problem firs

We did not mention an open relay as a sole cause.
Why was the bounce sent. Grep for ED0466E68594 to find out

you MUST NOT stop bounces
you have to look why they are happening and solve
the root-cause which is maybe you do not reject
messages to non-existent rcpt directly
if you accept a message and it can not be finally
delivered the server sends a NDR, if you reject
the message the sending machine is r

I guess the version you're updating to has no SASL support compiled in.
Which pa

Since you are in CentOS (as you describe in earlier posts), I would
suggest you to follow these *easy* directions and upgrade to 2.8 (latest
Hi
I was evaluating my smptd_recipient_restrictions last week and decided that it
made no sense to have reject_sender_login_mismatch after
permit_sasl_authenticated. So I changed it. At the time I was reviewing the
documentation I wasn't able to figure out the difference between

Postfix experts,
I am using Postfix 2.3.3 on a Centos 5.7 system.
I have a peculiar problem where a client is trying so send out to 1700
local email addresses to our cloud (gmail), but it only seems to be able to
send out a small portion of the list successfully. This person is using

Your mail sending client is busted. You can debug this with tcpdump
(capture to file, then examine the SMTP conversation w
