all this stuff this then I should really take the other hint too, and go
bark up a different tree.
Thanks again to everybody who was nice & helpful. Good bye.

that says " You must have at least two MX records and then proper A and
PTR record for each host that will handle email."
If that's wrong, then like you said that saves me some pain.
Now that you mentioned it, I'm just looking at the SMTP RFC I found to
see if it says anything about it.
Thanks.

ver, with one set of filter rules, but want it
to look to the outside like I have the two hosts. Can I do it this way?
If the answer's yes, I guess I got to get those banners right.
Thanks again.

es, TWO spampd
proxy instances, and TWO "after filter" instances, so that I have TWO
separate chains, each one with a greeting or banner of its own?

since PostFix is
designed to be the most secure of the bunch that using the 'postfix'
user for everything might have made some sense.
Your comments and some more reading showed me that I got it completely
backwards.
Thanks a bunch.

27;postfix', or something unique to both Daemons like 'spam' and
'clam'.
I'm able to get mail moving around using different combinations, but
really can't figure out what the safest combination is.
Any pointers to share?

keep saying do it later,
too. When I read it's documentation, it sure seems like it's the
newest, simplest way I've seen to use blocking lists like Spamhaus and
Barracuda.
If I don't use postscreen, I don't see how I use those lists. Did I
miss something else?
Thanks to you both.

ny of the Multiple Instance setup is there a good Document that
tells what configuration goes into what file? Does configuration flow
down from the 1st one you setup ? So that PostScreen configuration,
which looks to do some of the work I want done, goes into which config
file?
Thanks. Maybe a fresh look in the morning will be good too.

Thanks for that. I guess I got some good reading to do.
> This is from master.cf. What it's meant to illustrate
That's a good example. That's all on one server or instance then? I
mean you only have one master.cf and one main.cf for your setup?
Do you use that PostScreen application that's built into PostFix too?
Would that go in the same configuration files too?
Thanks one more time.

ying about servers, processes and hosts. So
one host is good enough. It'll have multiple processes running on it.
So how many PostFix's, or these Instances of it, do I need to install to
just get what I want to do done?
If I'm looking in the wrong places, that'd be good to know.
Thanks for your time and help.

ver, or have to use lots. If I can get this cleared up with
some pointers and figure out what to do with that diagram I think I'd be
off to the races.
I'd appreciate any help.
