I want to setup a proper email system for a small startup company.
My objectives are to
1) install postfix
2) install dovecot
3) Install some anti-virus module to protect email system
4) A graphical user interface for creating new email accounts, deleting
email accounts etc.

Now I wanted to create new email accounts using below command.
useradd -s /sbin/nologin username
passwd username
User is added to machine.
Next I tried to login to that account from my mail client, it fails.
When I checked /var/mail f
This issue was resolved by changing port to 465. Not sure why 587 do not
work.

Now I have setup email system in my host.
I am able to receive the mail.
But when I try to send mail I get below error
*SMTP Error (-1): Connection to server failed.*
I am sure, port SMTPD is running at 587 (I can do telnet).
Then I checked the error log, I see

able to send a mail out.
Now I am looking for interfaces
1. Postfix admin , means I should be able to add/maanage email accounts of
users
2. Roundcuble setup at mailserver - so that I can check the mails online by
acces
adding the account.
Any idea whats going wrong.., please let me know.

So MySQLd is up, no doubt.
Port/Host and Permissions fine..., not getting what may go wrong.

I am trying to setup postfix/dovecot in an Ubuntu 12.04 system.

configurations), when I start service postfix, in terminal it shows
everything fine.
