If it's a VPS with root access and virtually no preconfigurations, you
may find that all you need to do is start some sort of syslog service.
Then your mail should show up in /var/log/ or a similar
location.
Or perhaps you need to install syslog or configure it.
Don't forget to add it to your
The stored procedure seems like and excellent solution. However, I've
a problem. I can call the alias as the user postfix uses and get the
right result, but when postfix does it, I get:
warning: mysql query failed: PROCEDURE postfix.lookup_alias can't
return a result set in the given context

trolls, only spammers) after your first post to me.
But you are the one full of it, anyone is free to read the archives of

This is a question of basic familiarity with your operating system. If
you would be so kind as to tell us what release of what operating system
you're running, someone will be able to tell you off the top of their
head how to find the logs.

I noted this at the bottom of my message, but I've spent multiple
hours attempting to find said log with no results.

My name is Shane, and I am having a problem that has baffled me for a
week. I recently purchased a new VPS to host my websites on, and
installed postfix, among other things. I am primarily using mysql
lookups and aliases (the only mailbox I have defined is for testing
purposes). I configure
