I vote native, and will be happy to contribute some code as well.

I vote Native too - and for those that want the 'extra' functionality
then the 0.5 Skin is already good.

Just wanted to let you know that it is working very good. Thank you.
Now if I could figure out what to listen to as I'm not familiar with
the bbc much at all.

I vote "native" - current app is very good...native offers the best
potential for a big jump, even if it takes some time.

Well, since Audio is my biggest wish and since it's #8 on both roadmaps,
I'll happily live with either. Do you have an idea of how big a job
we're talking about for Dean to fix the "byte range access" issue in
SC? I assume that all versions of Safari suffer from this same
limitation.

I've thought of a way to get directory info that I can check for anyting

Can you issue the following commands in a dos box/command prompt
assuming standard installation and the dos prompt is already on drive

BigAAC,
There should be many files in Plugins/Alien and in Plugins/Alien/Addons
- so something is not right.
The Addons are only for AlienBBC 2.0.x which only runs on SC 7.x.
If you are running Slimserver 6.x and not Squeezecenter - you will have
to wait for addons for SS 6.x.

i'm installing this on my QNAP, whilst i have a Plugins folder it is
empty ( no Plugins/Alien/Addons directory)
Do i just install the 3 files into the plugins folder then?
thanks

I vote native. Anything else continues to be a hybrid aproach IMO.
Thanks again for all your work on this. I'm really looking forward to
getting apps to "drive" my slimdevices and my HAI system. I'd rather
wait a month and get a "real" application, but understand I may be in
the minority.

OK, here's the story. Plus two roadmap choices.
First:
No, the audio part is a big wish but I'm not enough into audio to do
this. I cn do all the UI stuff but I can not do the Audio app. Any
volunteers?
That said, Dean promised to solve the "byte range access" issue on the
server and I DO know ho

thanks - can see from results that 404 error has been a bane of your

I don't know of a way to switch a payer over to SN and then turn it
off. Once the player switches, it's out of the local SqueezeCenter's
(and any plugin's) control. Can you experiment using the CLI to switch
your SB3 to SN if it's
I forgot to add the following to previous post.
I think the 404/Settings error could have a number of causes but the
only way I could reproduce it was by creating additional directories
called Plugins.
BTW After deleting plugin-data.yaml did you reboot the PC ?

NO !
server/Slim/Plugin are for plugins distributed with SC. All the source
code of AlienBBC is setup to work ONLY in server/Plugins - check the
code if you want
thanks BPA, followed your instructions
deleted slimserver directory with empty plugins folder
The only folder in squeezecenter/server/plugins is now the alien
folder
nb. there is also a plugin folder in squeezecenter/slim/ which has many
plugin folders (tho' alienbbc or similar is not among them)
I have the wunderground plugin 'on' as my screensaver but do I actually
need to 'setup' details of my actual location and if so where and how
do I achieve this. My Squeezebox is displaying a weather forecast but I
don't know the accuracy of this information.
Thanks for your time.

I'm finding that after synchronising my players and then unsynchronising
them (if I've understood how to do this correctly) despite being stopped
one seems to keep playing... and keep playing...
so I've deleted the plugin. :-(

If what you mean by "headless" is without a monitor... the answer is
no...
I wondered how to get TrackStat WebUI to quickly display all songs on the album
I was currently listening to.
Clicking Home > Music Library > TrackStat shows the currently playing song, but
I couldn't find a quick way from there of showing all songs on the album that
the song belongs to.

Pippin: thanks for all your work on this. The new version is working

Ok, here are 2 log files, one is when the alarm tries to swap from a
regular playlist to a dynamic one. The second is when the alarm tries
to swap from one dynamic playlist to another.
I should add that all my testing uses TrackStat playlists - is that
likely to be the cause of the problem?

Just upgraded to SC7 and I noticing this exact issue. I use softsqueeze
to listen to alienbbc streams from work and I now have to pause and
unpause to get any sound once the stream is playing. Often doing this

I haven't had a chance to extensively test this version, but yesterday,
when I was kicking the tires, I noticed that my SBC didn't "follow" my
SB3 over to Squeeze Network when I did a "Hibernate to SN". This may
be a problem with the latest jive firmware for the SBC.
I'd appreciate it if others

OK bpa, understood. I realise it's a fluctuating position right now. I
use Listen Again mainly for Radio 2 progs, so I'll just have to use the
computer for now rather than Squeezebox.

Not at the moment. I don't have a 6.5. installation on hand so making an
Addon for 1.06 on 6.5 is much more effort.
There may be more work needed on current Addon and only after that will
I be able to look at a 1.06 possibility.
