I love the Cover Chooser feature. I use it to choose my tunes but it's
also given me a great, easy way to use all my album art as desktop
wallpaper!!
Awesome!!

Thanks much, that did the trick! I saw some errors regarding the
last.fm plugin but am only really concerned with the scrobbler so I'm
set!

I find it very difficult to come up with a coherent explanation of why
you get so many retransmit errors with both wired and wireless as the
interfaces are different and using the wired interface also rules out
all interference issues.
The only idea I had was that there was some incompatibility
It's just too bad it won't work with 6.3.1 anymore though... :(
I understand it's double the work to maintain two different versions
especially at the salary you're getting for it! ;-)

Sorry it took me so long to get to this...work's been hectic. WebLogger
is now up and running with version 6.5 of slim server, and there are a
few new goodies in there too.
I'm hoping to create some new templates soon...and get rid of the one
(very minor) bug that I know of with it. (basically

I think your ears deceive you - the RealAudio streams are around 40kbps
IIRC - aimed to be usable on narrowband.
The RealAudio codec has "flavours" which are tuned to the typical sort
of program (e.g. R4 - voice, R3 Classical music) which may give a
better overall impression.

Thanks - that is brilliant! I only had most of the file types disabled
so I could test out the difference between server side decoding and
built-in decoding when I was deciding how to store my rips. It doesn't
matter now so checked Flac built-in and all is great now - can't

I'm getting some odd behavior with some songs. When playing "High

Logic seems reasonable - I was only really questioning the NetTest

I recently upgraded to SS 6.5 and was going to wait until SlimScrobbler
was official before I upgraded it, but decided I couldn't wait. So I
got the latest version from CVS and installed it correctly, but it
doesn't appear in the SlimServer Plugin Menu (the Last.FM plugin worked
fine).

RTSP is not native to the SB3 so it has to be transcoded into a native
format.
By default it is Flac but you have built in Flac disabled.
So SS tried Flac to Wav but you have that disabled as well.
So the only format left is MP3 but you don't have Lame installed to
convert to MP3 so SS gives up.
...ah! Am I right in saying when I disabled loads of formats when I was
testing flac v. WAV v. AIFF local and server side decoding etc ages ago
I might have beeing laying the seeds for this broken Alien BBC :-)
All I have enabled are AIFF/MP3/WAV all built-in...except the RTSP we

That's good - it means Slimserver has found mplayer and that part of
installation is OK. No MP3 because no lame.exe installed - which is
normal.
Can you post a log with d_source when you select a BBC station.
You'll find the d_source setting under Server Setting/ Debugging and to

I have RTSP FLAC mplayer/flac and RTSP WAV mplayer ticked it seems -
RTSP MP3 mplayer/lame is not...

Hi Adrian,
I'll try to summarise the situation - with fresh eyes you might see
something.
The problem we're chasing is breakdown of the BBC mms stream on the SB
- the same stream plays with no problem on the PC.
Although SB plays music from PC fine but there are a high number of
retransmits.
