I'm not sure what you mean by sending the patch upstream.
If you mean - "make the patch part of Mplayer" then I will not be doing
it, because there is ongoing work re-organising/rewriting the code
handling RealAudio in Mplayer which should also fix the garbled audio
problem.

bpa,
Just to let you know, I too have had lots of problems with this
"garbled audio" problem (which sounds like choppy audio of two audio
streams mixed together) using mplayer on Ubuntu 5.10 (Breezy). The
problem normally starts 10-30 minutes after starting mplayer (receiving
BBC's radio 4 stream

I wasn't able to check yesterday, however, today it appears to have the

The BBC podcasts are now working with Softsqueeze. Not sure if the Beeb
changed something or whether it was my upgrade from Java 1.4.x to 1.5
that fixed it.
PS: ref; the best bits - I was only using that stream as an example;
please don't think any less of me :)

It worked great for me but the streams often go garbled and are not
pleasant to listen to. Any hint/tips on how to fix this?
I run CentOS Linux 4.1.
