Hi Stuart, Great plugin!
it simplifies search in a big way...
I have found a minor issue with it:
artist names (or song's/ album's) containing non-english characters are
shown with some "symbols" instead of the right non-english character.
That same name appears fine if I browse by artist in
It's possible the URL in AlienBBC is out of date.
I found the URL by going to the DW site http://www.dw-world.de.
There is a DW-Radio box on the RHS.
Click on the "Now live" option and it opens offering a Real or WMA
audio stream.
Click on the Real stream modem option and it presents an in-
It's fab and extremely useful! Thanks very much.
How about adding a 'Play All Songs' if for instance you wanted to play
all the songs found when doing a song search?

I've got AlienBBC working - for the most part - except for the one thing I
really want - Deutsche Welle. For both the German and English streams I
appear to connect and then nothing.
Attached is the log output of the connection. Can anyone provide some ideas?
Thanks!

Hi,
Thanks for trying to help.
I have checked and I have Alien installed in
C:\Program Files\SlimServer\server\Plugins
It is there along with Live365 et al.
I have restarted my PC and then gone into Slim Serever, Server settings
and then Plugins and also Internet radio in the hope of finding
You'll only need to edit slimserver-conver.conf depending on the version
of Mplayer installed. I think your initial problem is elsewhere.
Did you unzip AlienBBC into the correct directory ? Check in the
Plugins directory for Alien amongst all the other plugins.

Hi,
I have tried to follow the instructions on installing Alienbbc but have
failed to even get the stations to appear in Slim Server.
I have version 6.1.1 so have tried to instal v98 of Alien. The
instruction is then
Open the file "C:\Program
Files\SlimServer\server\slimserver-convert.conf"
Thank you for your help.
I am running Slimserver 6.2 with Windows XP and having installed Alien
BBC (which works well) I have lost the ability to play WMP radio
streams. MP3 streams work fine.

Two points.
1. The current Windows Mplayer.exe on X25systems site does not have the
latest patch.
2. The version of Mplayer currently on Neil's site (www.X2systems.com)
seems to be an old version 051004 (i.e.4th Oct 2005). The previous
