Thanks for the explanation. That means that the plugin does what I want,
once I can figure out why the scripts aren't being read.
Anyone else using the plugin on a Mac with SlimServer installed for one
user? If so, information about permissions and any other advice would be
welcome.

Thanks for that information.
I thought that on my previous machine, the computer's name worked fine

Ceejay, if you can bear it, you can always go to the LastFM site and
use the Profile Editor to remove the offending items ! I've only ever
used it to remove the odd track rather than lots and lots, but it does
seem to make a difference. I get a lot less

Well this morning everything worked okay so I guess it was just a glitch
somewhere.
Sorry to bother...

OK for unix users, do these alternative convert commands work for
people? They avoid the waveheader being passed to lame/flac and hence
the 3 hour 22 minute problem...

Yes, mine are all stored in the MP3 ID3 Lyrics tags. I can send a

I'm at 3hr 37 when using WAV - your header theory looks right.

Hi Bernt,
Could you enable the d_plugins and d_remotestream debugging options, try
again and send me the output?
Note that it frequently doesn't connect on the first attempt.
Try pressing play again from the now playing/playlist screen and see if
that helps.

Softsqueeze will ask your system to translate thse hostnames. And your
system does so according to your hosts table and/or DNS, and network
switch table. Localhost translates to 127.0.0.1
Hi!
I use Slimscrobbler and LastFM plugins. Slimscrobbler reports my music
to LastFM and i can play music with the LastFM player but
Slimserver/Softsqueeze never connects to LastFM.
All I get is "Waiting for LastFM track details..."
This is really great Plugins (Thanks!) and it would be nice to

Assuming using wav removes the 3 hours 22 minutes problem, we probably
want to change the slimserver-convert.conf commands for flac and mp3.
At present they use the waveheader to get stuff like bitrate to lame
and flac to avoid configuring them, but it should be possible to avoid
the wave header
Now this is weird.
I got the plugin working ok, and it saw my script.
But when I tried a second time, the script could not be seen.
As suggested, I had modified the plugin, and the relevant lines now

OK - I'll try that - especially as you had some input into patching that
file already.
I think I may have found the last garbled audio bug as well - so this
could be a good day where I can put Mplayer away.

Bryan,
Definately try streaming with wav - the convert commands actually mean
that mplayer does not add a wav header in this case. [But flac and mp3
do to get the info into flac or lame]
Looking at the mplayer source, I think libao2/ao_pcm.c generates a wav
header with:
wavhdr.data_leng
I have used flac and Lame under linux. When flac was used Softsqueeze
elasped time display froze and stream did not restart.
I have gone through different permutations of the 3hr 23 because I
think it is a timer or wrap around as well. The 44.1Khz is interesting.
It is also 203 minutes which a
Bryan,
Are you using flac or lame? [post suggests both? Could I suggest
streaming as wav to remove the extra process from the pipeline]
To remove flac, have you tried streaming as wav to softsqueeze.
[unselect rstp->flc *and* wav->flac from file types]
Sounds like something is wrapping?

AlienBBC scans the BBC site on startup and hence uses the latest url.
IIRC not all of the BBC sites changed the url to rmlivev8bb so this may
be distracting you from the real problem.
I suggest posting a log with -d_source as well as details such as
