as you have already found out, the best way is to start installing it
in the house. I would recomment Red Hat to start with, or may be
Debian. I personally love Debian. The learning curve can be more in
the case of Debian.

Iam very new to linux and want to know about this world.
Iam an engineering graduate from VIT.
Fascinated by linux world i want to make career in this.
I know a bit of unix and shell scripting.
Can people tell me how to get started.
I beleive the best way is to install linux at home and do R&D.
