Hello,
I have a core 2 duo desktop, with Dual boot Windows XP and OpenSuse 10.3
I have noticed that the same UPS that gives standard 20 min backup when booted
in windows, doesn't give any backup when booted in OpenSuse.
Do we need some special settings in OpenSuse to control power consumption?

Hi,
I was wondering if there is any software available which can "Shutdown the
machine properly" sometime after it switches to UPS (Thanks to power failure).
Reason: UPS has a limited backup, and one may not be around when power failure
occurred, to take corrective action.
Best regards,
Satish

Infact external modems are not costly, if you look at
the amount you have to pay to buy a driver for
softmodem. e.g those available at linuxant
While buying an external modem,"NOW", consider
broadband compatibility also and then you can forget
modem problems for quite some time.

Won't it cause a problem if the driver is meant for
lower kernel version?
