Hello, I am trying to follow this procedure on a Debian 9 machine that had a
kernel panic error and how sort of works, but doesn't shut down properly. I
get this output for the command:

I chose to install a Debian 11 on a new drive. That one is giving me some
trouble as well now.Is there a poor mans way to recover the
That is expensive. I guess I'll just get myself a new NUC if it is the

Just be aware it might be the HDD but be careful if it still does it after
changing the drive that it might be a possible problem of the motherboard.

I have been following this thread and I once had the same problem and found out
it was a hardware issue.
If you are still using the regular HDD then the hardware that read and writes
to the HDD is failing and needs to be replaced.
I use to have some new HDD and found some to have defects on the r
Now the installer is crashing.

I’ve been trying to preserve home. So that might be the problem? Yea,
manjaro wouldn’t install either. The boot loader could not be installed.

okay, here is a little update. I installed 20.3 and ran it like two days
with no busybox error. I then update the operating system (not
dist-upgrade) and the next boot gave the hardware splashscreen and then it
went black. So I can live with the computer but can't update it. Oh well.

Thanks so much for taking the time out of your day to teach me how I should
have looked into the error and you solved my problem. So I’ll distro hop
till I find something that doesn’t panic.
