im trying to replace our unix dns servers with linux. my problem is my linux
dns servers queries much slower than my unix servers. i even tried centos and
debian with the latest bind 9.3.4 as compared to my unix servers with only bind
8.2.4. anyone had a nice combination of OS and bind
I normally have much better luck getting speedier results with djbdns.
Unless you have any strong objections against DJB, I highly recommend
that you give djbdns (tinydns for authoritative, dnscache for resolving,
axfrdns to allow secondaries to poll tinydns) a spin. On Debian you can:
