The --scss commandline option is also missing from the man page.
This switch is needed to have sass parse the scss syntax from
stdin. (scss seems to be the recommended syntax now, since that's
what all the docs on the site use.)

I hit this exact bug. Installing libfssm-ruby fixed it.
So this seems to me to be a debian packaging issue.
While we're talking of packaging, I wonder if sass should be in a
separate package from haml. (I'm just wondering, I have no idea.)

I cannot install the redmine package from the backports repo because
the rails package dependencies. The rails available in backports is >
2.3. I tried to install the rails from the
lenny stable repos
