Here is a patch, it should merge available HTTPS?_PROXIES variables.
I will patch the debian package if it takes too long to release the next
upstream version including this fix.
I haven't fully tested the solution yet.

Two issues then :
[packaging] http proxies env. var should be exposed when using
systemd/SystV.
[upstream] the http client should actually use them ^^
