I used Roland's patch to produce a debdiff which is applicable.
I also included a verification so it checks the endiannes, since there is also
ppc64el to be taken into account.
The debdiff is attached.

Thanks for the patch! This would be a great thing to forward upstream, have
you tried that? I think they would accept it. I'm also OK with including it
as part of the Debian package regardless.
