The system is an amd64 architecture.

Hi
After the python 2.5 migration as default python interpreter in sid, it seems
that 2.4 gdal support is broken even if packaged using python-central.
Here is the output of a 2.4 session trying to load gdal :

... seems it works now.
Don't know what happened exactly. I will close the bug. Sorry for the
noise but the behaviour was really strange.

Hi,
I've attached the error.log of Apache. I hope this will help to debug
the problem. I can provide a text file if needed.

Can I test something else ? I'll be offline during the next three days.

Hi,
I've found a workaround for the problem.

Hi,
The user interface of the grass version of sid seems a bit broken. When asking
for the vector import dialog, something screwed up appear and the following

I meant upgrading to 1.4.1 concerning the version, not 1.4.0 ;-)
I had a quick look at what can be the problem. It seems that other
people add the same one but it was using not updated svn version.

Updating the package to 1.4.0 version breaks python-gdal.

Reading the previous mails, the problem is not very clear.
In fact, using a locale with a point as decimal separator in place of
locales using command as decimal separator solves all the previous
problems !
GDAL does not support locales like fr_BE, etc. So this bug should be
forwarded upstream.
The bug should be pretty obvious to solve. It is alredy builded using

The problem seems to be deeper than that.
In fact, it's an interaction problem between matplotlib-numpy and

python-gdal is python-numeric dependant. Matplotlib can use either

Hi Bernhard,
The solution is to install the python-gdal module with the following
command :

It seems that pycentral does not update all the installed modules when
changing the python default ins
