Due to some patent entanglement of an unamed company, GIF support was
dropped from the stock GD integrated in PHP.
To add GIF support, you will need to recompile both GD and PHP with it
(at your own risk of course)!
I would sugest the use of the far superior png files as the problems of
browse
How could I display GIF image in 4.3.2. I tried the example in "Image
Functions" manual and showed nothing.
