But now I have a new problem:
I can´t convert german special-chars with UTF-8:
Example:

echo trim(htmlspecialchars($nachricht, ENT_QUOTES, "UTF-8"));
?>
The result is on my server empty :-( (Because of the special-char "ü").

Hi Patrick. I'm not running SuSE now and don't know what
your error with configure is, but do you really need to
state all those package options with the configure command?
This is what my configure command looks like:
