Hi!
I'm trying to compile PHP 4.2.3 on RedHat 7.2 x86. This is my configure
line:
./configure --prefix=/share/sys/php/php-$ver/ \
--with-mysql --with-apxs --with-gettext \
--with-cyrus
I appreciate the fact that you responded to my query, but unfortunately,
there was no message. If you sent a reply with content in the body,
could you please resend your repsonse? As well, it would be kind if
you CC'ed to the list as well, so as to inform others of your knowledge.
Sincerely,
Dav

I think the problem is that Verio VPS servers
Are you using the port or the source code? If you're trying to compile the
source, just use the ports instead. It's faster and more manageable. Just
update your ports if it doesn't offer php 4.1.1

Put -lm at the end of your LIBS line and it should work

Hi K.N.Luu,
it seems that no C++ compiler is installed (Sun just delivers a very
simple C compiler with Solaris - you have to purchase the full C/C++
compiler as an additional product).
However, instead of throwing money into Sun I'd strongly advise to use
gcc - available e.g. at www.sunfreeware.
I don't know if this means anything important, but the line:
ac_cv_c_inline=${ac_cv_c_inline=__inline}
Appears twice in my config.cache (one after the other).

Christian

What does config.cache say on the ac_cv_c_inline test? It should be near
the top of your config.cache file. Mine says:
ac_cv_c_inline=${ac_cv_c_inline=inline}
configure really should be checking for this already. Looks like it is
getting it wrong.

YESS!,
It works! I have compiled it both as standalone interpreter and as Apache's
module. It works. It works.
Great job Roman, I was concerned about having to search through all the Zend
sources to delete the 'inline' statements.
Just for the records: the 'inline' statement is not stan

Excuse if this sort of obvious thing, but is mysql running on your system?
PHP can't bring it up if it isn't already running.

Here I am again. I have been investigating a bit and I have done some tests.
I just list them for the records:
1. Build PHP as CGI. The build breaks in the same point. At least we can now
leave Apache out of the game.
2. I get hold to the 'zend_ptr_stack_push' function for the sake of
simplicity
Hi Roman,
First of all: it did not work. I got exactly the same errors as with -n32.
Bad luck. Anyway, I think that we could help the guys from PHP trying to
make this thing work with the native compiler (which, in turn --sorry GNU
blokes-- is much better than any other when it gets to make fast
