I have a slight problem configuring PHP with Apache. I'm using PHP 4.3
with Apache 1.3.27 on my RedHat Linux 7.2 box.
I initially configured php with apache and it worked fine. The phpinfo page
showed that PHP was configured with

A rehash of a problem I had earlier on Solaris7/Sparc - explained more
clearly
If I use the configure line below, I can configure no problem, but my make
dies with the issues below, however if I compile with the gd that was
installed previously on this system by specifiying --with-gd=/usr/local,
I managed to install php with no problems on several boxes, but one
machine has an issue (solaris 7 on sparc) using the build in GD library.
It is odd in that if I compare the output from "configure" between this
particular box, and another which had a successfull "make" there is no
issue.

One other thing... make sure you _have_ the extensions... the windows
installer thing gives you very little - no extensions per my recollection.
If you don't download the zip and extract it's contents to c:\php.

this isn't really a problem at all, Oracle also works fine with glibc
2.2 (as of debian/potato 2.2.19 with glibc 2.2 _and_ rh 7.0), what
fails are the client libraries, you have to relink them using
genlibclnt.sh (don't exactly remember the name).

I'm completely new at this. I downloaded three files from php.net site:
1) php-4.0.4pl1.tar
2) php-4.0.4pl1-Win32
3) php404pl1-installer
First, I tried installing the # 2 file, and manually adding everything. Did

This is getting answered in the FAQ at php.net, you didn't add the
Apache directives for executing php.

That is exactly the problem. RedHat 7.0 doesn't include program called

You need to edit the httpd.conf file (probably in /etc/httpd/conf if I
recall) and uncomment the lines that enable PHP support (do a search for
php and you should find what you need).
