I don't know if you're using the make bundled with Solaris, but maybe
try gnu make.

Hello all,
I tried compiling PHP 4.0.6 on Solaris 8. Configure produced no errors
but make gives this error me
password 'new-password'; then it prompts me for a password?!
What should I do there? What is the password?
It won't let me do the sql-bench/run-all-tests. It says the file is not
found...but it is there and is an executable.
I don't have a clue what to do, or what is going wrong

I'm installing MySQL (mysql-3.22.32-sun-solaris2.7-sparc) on a Solaris
8 and when doing gtar got the following error message for some of the
files:
gtar: Unknown file type 'L' for ././@LongLink, extracted as normal
file
What does this mean? What should I do?

What recommendations does this group have with regard to installing
static vs. dynamic? I was reading on the Apache site that DSO runs
slower; I couldn't understand what the benefits are...can anyone explain
it to me in plain English?
