Did you compile it --with-apxs or whatever the other flag is? I know you
need that for 4.4.0, probably 5.0.5 as well.

I believe it is --with*... check the doc to see if it is --enable*.
Anyways, did you compile it to have both shared and static? I also assume
you did make install afterwards and made sure it is in /usr/lib/ or
/usr/local/lib?

The think I don't get is that libphp4.la compiles fine with --with-jpeg-dir,
but it fails on sapi/cli/php. Why would one succeed while the other fails?
