the problem is that
I've got a static libcrypt library rather than a dynamic one. But I've
seen postings from people about the libphp4.so needing to be renamed .sl
or vice-versa, so they must be getting past this point, but I'm not sure
how. Any ideas? TIA.

s from it not being able to find
libpq-fs.h but I have that file in /pgsql/include/libpq. I noticed in
the Makefile that there is a 'PGSQL_SHARED_LIBADD = ' field, but
twiddling with that didn't seem to make any difference. Any
suggestions? TIA.
