Can anyone help resolve this error, i have spend a week of sleepless
trying to find ways and means of resolving it.

Have you checked to see what the Apache error log is saying about why it
doesn't want to start up (if anything)?

I'm trying to compile PHP 5.3.3 from source on Solaris 9. I just
compiled & installed PHP 5.3.2 on the same server a couple of months
ago, but 5.3.3 isn't cooperating. I use the following configure:
../configure --prefix=/usr/local/apps/php-5.3.3 \
--with-apxs2=/usr/local/apps/apache-2.2.16/
