[PHP-INST] apache/php/mysql seems *really* slow on winxp

I've got a web project that was developed using apache 2.0.44 php 4.3.x and mysql 4.0.11-gamma and it runs much faster on a win2k machine with P3-700 and 512MB than it does on a brnad new winxp laptop with a P4-2GHz with 512MB. The database is pretty small (about 30 MB) and I've configured apache,
