hi,
we were originally discussing php-5.2.0 on solaris 9, not 10.
but i have a solaris 10 test box available right now, and not a 9.
so i had another go at it.
initially, i got this error:
/VOLUMES/gizmonics/php-5.2.0/sapi/cli/php -n\
-dshort_open_tag=0 -dsafe_mode=0 -dopen_basedir
the INSTALL file says to copy a php.ini-dist file and customize it.
i can't find a file named:
\*ini\*
\*dist\*
or php.in\* not in the includes, in either 4.4.4 or 5.2.0.
is it named something else these days? non-existent in 4.4.4?

i got this to work on a test solaris 10 machine, but
it won't work on my production solaris 9 machine.
i ran ldd on the php to make sure i had the right libs:
librt.so.1 =>/usr/lib/librt.so.1
libresolv.so.2 =>/usr/lib/libresolv.so.2
libm.so.1 => /usr/lib/li
hi,
if it helps any, i have confirmed that my earlier problem is limited to
pear.
that is,
configure ... --without-pear
and so on, works.
